St. Scholastica simply ran into a stronger team on Saturday afternoon at the UW-Stevens Point Tournament as the host Pointers routed the visiting Saints 81-30 to capture their seventh straight Pointers Tip-Off Classic title.

UWSP (2-0) opened the game with six straight points before Jessica Nichols put the Saints (1-1) on the scoreboard. The Pointers then had a nine-point run followed by a pair of 11-point runs to break the game open and take a 41-17 lead into the intermission.

The second half was unfortunately more of the same for the Saints who were hampered by a 4-for-27 shooting performance in the final 20 minutes.

Nichols led the Saints with seven points and Alexa Leighton (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) added six. No Pointer reached double-figures although 15 different players scored for the Classic's champions.

St. Scholastica's Kirsten Haukom (Marshall, Minn./Marshall HS) was named to the All-Tournament team following the game.
