The Saints finished off the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference slate of games in their 2007 schedule with a perfect 14-0-0 record after defeating host Northland College 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.

St. Scholastica improved their overall mark to 16-3-0 while the LumberJacks fell to 3-14 overall and 2-12 within the UMAC.

A stubborn Northland squad, playing their final game of the season after failing to qualify for the UMAC postseason tournament, held the Saints to only one goal in the opening half, despite being out shot by a 12 to three margin.

Sophomore Robbie Miller's goal in the 27th minute was the game's only score when the teams retreated to the locker rooms at the intermission.

Their domination on the field was finally seen on the scoreboard in the second half as the Saints found the back of the LumberJack's net three times within 16 minutes.

Freshman Toby Peter (Spalt, Germany/J.S. Bach Gymnasium), who picked up the assist on the Miller goal, got things rolling in the 61st minute with his 10th goal of the season off an assist from Miller.

Senior Andy Solin (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) scored in the 73rd minute to put the Saints ahead 3-0, then sophomore Andy Westlund picked up his first collegiate goal with a score in the 77th minute.

Westlund lost his entire freshman season to an injury suffered in the preseason last year that completely blanked out his initial campaign with the Saints.

Miller assisted on the Westlund score while freshman Dustin James (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) had the assist on the Solin goal.

With the clock ticking down towards the point of celebration for the Saints, Northland snuck a shot by Saints goalie Adam Whitehead (Pickering, Ont./Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School) for the game's final score only 44 seconds from the final horn.

Whitehead made three saves on the day, though, in earning the victory.

Next up for the Saints will be the UMAC tournament which they will host as the No. 1 seed next Friday-Saturday, Nov. 2-3, at Duluth's Public Schools Stadium.

Presentation College enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds have yet to be finalized due to a tie between Minnesota-Morris and Northwestern College who each have 23 points in the league standings. Both Morris and Northwestern have already earned their bids but their seeding's won't be determined until Sunday afternoon's game between Presentation and Morris.
