SAINTS FALL ON THE ROAD TO HOST PIPERS

Box Score
Tied 1-1 at the half in St. Paul on Tuesday afternoon, the host Pipers from Hamline University (8-5-0, 4-4-0 MIAC) used three second half goals to hand St. Scholastica (13-3-0, 11-0-0 UMAC) a 4-1 loss, only their third defeat of the 2007 season.

Freshman Cody Sveiven (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) notched his team-leading 10th goal of the season with a score in the 35th minute to answer Hamline's early score that came in the 2nd minute of the game.

Both teams registered eight shots in the evenly played first half, though the Saints had the advantage in corner kicks, three to one, but couldn't capitalize on any of those opportunities.

The final 45 minutes was the Drew Lukas show for Hamline as he scored goals in the 51st, 54th, and 83rd minutes to register the hat trick.

Hamline held St. Scholastica to only five shots in the second frame while registering 10 in the half.

Saints keeper Adam Whitehead (Pickering, Ont./Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School) made seven saves in the loss while Hamline's Andrew Clement and Kevin Hogan each played a half in the Piper victory. Clement allowed a goal and made five saves, and Hogan stopped the only shot on goal that he faced in the second half.
