Wade Stadium

Opening on July 16, 1941, Wade Stadium was built as part of Franklin Roosevelt's Work Progress Administration - a federal jobs program implemented during the Great Depression. Paving bricks from Grand Avenue were installed by masons hired by the Federal Government and were used to create the grandstand which still stands today.Wade Stadium was originally called All-Sports Stadium.
Since 1941 more than 1 million fans have attended games at Wade Stadium, although attendance figures were not kept until 1946.

In the fall of 2014, Wade Stadium got its biggest renovation in recent memory when the natural playing surface was torn up and field turf was installed throughout the field. New lights were also installed as well as cosmetic work on the exterior of the stadium.
