csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team competed in the ninth annual Lake Superior Challenge on Saturday in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.
Gracia Breaks 500m RecordMason Gracia (Houston, Texas/Prior Lake HS (Minn.)) broke the program record in the 500m dash, posting a time of 1:09.69, finishing fourth overall. That bested the previous record by nine-tenths.
Other Top PerformancesJacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) was runner-up in the 3,000m run with a personal-best time of 9:09.37.
Kenneth Jinkins (Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) was second in the 60m hurdles, posting a season-best time of 8.56.
Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was third in that event with a time of 9.00.
The 4x400m relay team of Egelkraut,
Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS), Gracia and
Luke McKenzie (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was second finishing in 3:31.34.
Jinkins also placed third in the 200m dash with a time of 23.24. Naumann was behind him in fourth with a time of 23.49.
Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was runner-up in both the shot put and weight throw. His top mark in the shot put was 48'4.5" (14.74m). His best throw in the weight throw was 56'7.25" (17.25m).
McKenzie was third in the 1,000m run, finishing in 2:37.49.
Easton Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) was fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:39.87.
