SUPERIOR, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team set three program records and won four events on Saturday at the Yellowjacket Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Program RecordsJacob Gallagher (Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) set a program record in the 5,000m run winning by 27 seconds finishing in 15:28.90.
Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) set a program record in the 60m hurdles with a winning time of 8.45.
Kenneth Jinkins (Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) won the 200m hurdles with a program record time of 25.07.
Event WinnersEaston Foss (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) won the 3,000m run by six seconds over the rest of the field with a time of 9:17.55.
Other Top PerformancesWagner was second in the 200m dash with a time of 23.22 and third in the long jump with a mark of 21'3.25" (6.48m).
Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 47'7.75" (14.52m). He was also runner-up in the weight throw with a mark of 57'5" (17.50m).
Jinkins was runner-up to Wagner in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.77.
Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was fourth in that event.
Mike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was second in the 200m hurdles, posting a time of 25.26. Egelkraut was third with a time of 25.46.
The 4x400m relay team of Egelkraut, Naumann,
Mason Gracia (Houston, Texas/Prior Lake HS (Minn.)) and
Luke McKenzie (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) placed second with a time of 3:33.90.
McKenzie was third in the 400m dash, posting a time of 52.39.
Kyle Beck (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) was third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.49. He edged teammate
Dylan Hermanstorfer (Waseca, Minn./Waseca HS), who was fourth with a time of 7.50.
Up NextThe Saints will send competitors to the University of Minnesota Snowshoe Open on Friday night, while the rest of the Saints will compete at the Bemidji State University Twilight on Friday.
