Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) and
Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) were the two lone event winners for the St. Scholastica men's track & field team on Saturday at the Holst Invitational, hosted by Concordia University-St. Paul.
Record BreakersChris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) won the 5,000m run, breaking his own program record with a time of 15:10.23. That beats his previous record by over seven seconds.
WinnersJeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) won the hammer throw with a mark of 188.7" (57.48m).
Top FinishersMike Naumann (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was runner-up in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.53.
Aaron Egelkraut (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was third in that event. Both had personal-best times. Naumann was also 10
th in the javelin throw with mark of 121'5" (37.00m).
Corey Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown HS) was second in the high jump, clearing 6'1.5" (1.87m). Anderson was also seventh in the long jump with a leap of 19'11.75" (6.09m).
Peterson was third in the discus toss with a mark of 155'6" (47.40m). He was also sixth in the shot put with a season-best toss of 47'9" (14.55m).
Ryan Murphy (Spooner, Wis./Spooner HS) was fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark at 164'9" (50.22m). Murphy was also eighth in the discus toss.
Adam Wallenta (Eagan, Minn./Farmington HS) was ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:50.21.
Luke McKenzie (Taylors Falls, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) was 10
th in the 400m dash, posting a time of 51.94.
Up NextSome members will head down to Iowa for the Drake Relays starting on Thursday and also compete at the Kip Janvrin Open on Friday, while others will compete at the Saint Mary's Open on Saturday in Winona.
