ROCHESTER, N. Y. – St. Scholastica freshman Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) has been named a second team West Region CCM Women's Hockey All-American by American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA); it was announced on Thursday night.

In only its second season, Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) becomes the first All-American in the CSS women's hockey program's history.

Nina had one of the best regular seasons in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) women's league history. She led the conference with 18 goals, 18 assists and 36 points.  In 12 seasons, she's one of only four players to average 1.80 or more points per game in NCHA play.  Her 36 points rank second most all-time in league history.

She led all freshmen in Division III with 1.64 points per game and finished third overall. She was fifth in the country in goals per game (0.82) and ninth in assists per game (0.82).

The NCHA made up five of the six players on the west region second team. The University of Wisconsin-Superior led the way with three All-American selections, including Dani Schultz receiving first team accolades. Kelly Salis of Adrian College and Katie Batters of UW-River Falls were also second team selections.
