The teams were in a stalemate for the rest of the first half as that was the only shot on goal for Bethany and they went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

The stalemate continued long into the second half on a day where Alexa Mowery needed to make six saves in an attempt to keep CSS in check.

The equalizer for the Saints would come in the 74th minute when leading scorer Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) put on in on assists from Andrea Beatt (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) and Maggie Dolan (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS) to tie the game.

It only took four minutes for CSS to take the lead when Casey Mitchell (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) scored her third goal of the season on a Shannon Carlson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) assist.  The Saints went on to control the clock and advance to the championship with a victory over the Vikings 2-1.

The goals gave Kehtel 38 points and Mitchell 14 points on the season.  The assists gave Beatt 21 points, Carlson 16 and for Dolan it was her first point of the season.

Molly Bergmann (Walker, Minn./Walker-Hackensack-Akeley HS) was in goal for the Saints and didn't need to make a save as she improves her record to 9-1-0.

The Saints (15-4-1) will be in action again on Saturday for the UMAC Championship where they will face the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars (11-6-1) at Saints Field at 11:30 a.m.  The game can be seen on GameCentral at csssaints.com
