2010-11 Schedule
DULUTH, Minn. – We continue this week looking at the St. Scholastica women's hockey recruiting class and focus on a trio of forwards hailing from Canada.
Jana Henry (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Westgate HS (Thunder Bay Midget AA Queens)), a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, played for the Thunder Bay Midget AA Queens. She led her squad in capturing the 2010 Esso Cup (National Championship). The team also captured the Ontario Provincial Championship. Henry was named the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player and received the Bob Thompson Award for dedication and perseverance. Henry, who also played basketball, was selected as a High School All-Star in Junior Basketball.
Cara McMannis (Holland, Manitoba/Treherne Collegiate Institute (Pembina Valley Hawks)), a native of Holland, Manitoba, played for the Pembina Valley Hawks Female AA program. McMannis scored 25 goals and added 26 assists in 45 games last season.
Michelle Rebeck (St. Andrews, Manitoba/Balmoral Hall), a native of St. Andrews, Manitoba, played for the Balmora Hall Blazers. During her time at Balmora Hall, Rebeck was named the Junior Varsity Athlete of the Year.
Just a couple of more releases to go before we finish up our summer look at the inaugural women's hockey recruiting class. The Saints will play their first-ever game on Friday, November 5th at the newly-remodeled Mars Lakeview Arena against Augsburg College.
