DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica football team will hold its first-ever intrasquad spring game on Tuesday at Saints Field.
The team will start field activities at 4 p.m., but the actual game will not start until 4:45 p.m.
Typically a NCAA Division III football team is not allowed to wear pads during spring practice, let alone play a spring game, but the exception is if you play a game in another country.
The Saints will be playing a Canadian All-Star team in the Can-Am Bowl in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sunday at 3 p.m. The game will take place at the 30,000-seat Blue Bomber Stadium, home of the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The game will be played with Canadian Rules, which differ slightly from the American version.
As part of the trip, the Saints will also be running a free youth football clinic in Winnipeg. Coach Carlson said the whole team will be coming on the trip.
“This will be a great experience for us,” said head coach Greg Carlson. “Practicing in full pads and playing a regular game in the spring will definitely help us for the fall season.”

4:18PM --- 4:40PM --- WARM UP – END WITH 3 PLAYS OF THUD
4:45PM --- START OF SPRING GAME
