About the Saints

  • The CSS Men's and Women's Track & Field programs are looking for their first NCAA Division III All-American to come from the Outdoor Championships.
  • The lone All-American in either program's history came at the 2009 Indoor Championships when Wendell Booth placed fourth overall in the long jump.
  • The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American status.
  • All three Saints that qualified this year have a top mark that is in the top eight or is right around that number.
  • Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) will be making her third straight NCAA Championships appearance (2 outdoor, 1 indoor), becoming the first CSS student-athlete to achieve that milestone.
  • Huberty comes in ranked third in the hammer throw with that mark coming at her last event at the UW-La Crosse Qualifier on Thursday.
  • Huberty, a junior from Lena, Wis., will also compete in the shot put, becoming the first CSS Men's or Women's track & field athlete to compete at multiple events at a single championship. She comes in ranked 20th in the shot put.
  • Rachel Miller (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) will make her second career NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance in the triple jump, first making it in 2011. The senior from Hinckley enters this year's championships ranked 11th in the triple jump, earning that mark at the Saint Mary's Open at the end of April.
  • Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) will become the first CSS athlete to compete in the decathlon at the NCAA Championships. CSS also qualifies a men's athlete for the second straight year after Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) became the first CSS male to qualify for the outdoor championships last season.
  • Wagner is ranked 12th in the country in the decathlon, earning that point total his last time out at the Gregory Multi's last week at North Central College (Ill.). Wagner is the second-highest ranked freshman in the field.
