Women’s Tennis Stumbles against Otterbein

ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team opened up its spring break trip with an 8-1 loss on Monday against Otterbein College (Ohio).

The lone winner on the day for the Saints was Alexis Gunderson (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) at No. 3 singles, winning in a third set super-breaker 6-4, 4-6, (10-4) to improve to 7-0 this season.

Gunderson, along with teammate Allie Carlson (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS), lost a close No. 3 doubles match 9-7. The same can be said for the No. 2 doubles team of Cortne Solberg (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) and Rachael Zwiener (St. Cloud, Minn./Home School) who lost 9-7.

The Cardinals improve to 3-5 this season, while the loss for the Saints snaps a two-match winning streak. This was the first meeting between the two programs.

The Saints (4-3) will take on Saint Mary's College (Ind.) tomorrow morning.
