ORLANDO, Fla. – In its first action in a little less than a month, the St. Scholastica women's tennis team was defeated by No. 19 Coe College (Iowa) 6-3 today, losing two, three-set matches in the process in Orlando, Fla.
At No. 1 singles it was CSS's #Ploy Suthijindawong# (
Fr.-Bangkok, Thailand/Duluth Central) defeating Molly Fiala in a third-set super tiebreak 4-6, 6-0, (10-8). The other singles victory came at the No. 6 flight with #Natalie Urick# (
Jr.-Virginia, Minn.) winning by scores of 7-6, 6-4.

So.-Hibbing, Minn.) played tough at No. 4 singles, but fell in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. #Angela Shields# (
Jr.-Pengilly, Minn.) went to a third-set tiebreak in her match at No. 5 singles, but fell by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
In doubles action, the No. 3 team of #Kelly Ross# (
Jr.-Buffalo, Minn.) and
Natalie Urick (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) was victorious by a score of 8-5. The other two doubles teams lost by an 8-4 score.
The Saints are 3-2 on the season, while the Kohawks improve to 14-4.
The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday when they face both St. Ambrose University (Iowa) and St. Mary's College (Ind.) down in Orlando. The St. Ambrose match begins at 8 a.m., while the St. Mary's contest will begin at noon.
