The Saints improved their season mark to 6-2 and lengthened their current win streak to four matches without a loss after defeating King's (Pa.) College 8-0 on Monday afternoon in Orlando.
For the second match in a row, St. Scholastica's three doubles tandems staked the Saints to a 3-0 lead, winning in convincing fashion.
Paula Beckermann (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) and Katie Motley (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) swept through their King's opponents at No. 1 doubles by an 8-1 score. Both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams won their matches by 8-2 scores. Casey Ruberto (Thunder Bay, Ont./Hammarskjold HS) and Katrina Sacchetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia Secondary) ran their current win streak at No. 2 doubles to seven matches in row with their win, and Lynnae Wilke (Parkers Prairie, Minn./Parkers Prairie HS) and Brooke Aho (Long Prairie, Minn./Long Prairie) won their second match in a row in their second outing of the season at No. 3.
In singles play, the Saints also were unbeaten, led by Motley's 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Her season-opening winning streak reached eight with the victory, against no losses.
