SAINTS STAY AT NO. 4 IN USCHO POLL

USCHO Division III poll

MINNEAPOLIS – The St. Scholastica hockey team remained at No. 4 in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III poll that was released today.

The Saints played third-ranked St. Norbert College to a 1-1 tie on Friday night. CSS then took care of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 6-2 on Saturday night. All three Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) teams that are ranked remained in the same spot as last week's poll. The other NCHA team ranked is the University of Wisconsin-River Falls at No. 14.

The Saints have been ranked in the USCHO Division III poll for 26 straight weeks and have been in the top 10 for 24 of those 26 weeks. The only time CSS has been ranked outside of the top 10 this season was in the preseason poll. Prior to this run, the Saints had only been ranked in the top 10 on two occasions in a NCAA Division III poll.

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season the top two spots in the conference come down to CSS and St. Norbert. If the Saints were to win their final two regular season games, they would need the Green Knights to lose both of their games to get the No. 1 seed. St. Norbert needs just two points this weekend to clinch the No. 1 seed. If the Green Knights get just two points this weekend and the Saints sweep, both teams will be co-regular season champions.

The Saints will play a rare Thursday game due to how the NCHA schedule aligns and will look for the regular season sweep of bridge rival University of Wisconsin-Superior. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. at Wessman Arena. CSS then closes out its regular season on Friday night when it hosts University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at Mars Lakeview Arena. That game also starts at 7:05 p.m.

All of the action can be heard live on ESPN Radio 560-WEBC. Both games can also be seen live online, courtesy of the iFan Sports Network, at csssaints.com.
