SUPERIOR, Wis. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team broke four school records with freshman #Justin Hanson# (
Fr.-Atwater, Minn./Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City) involved in three of those records at today's Border Battle, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Hanson broke his own 55-meter hurdles record with a time of 8.20 seconds to finish fourth. He also broke his own previous school record in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 26.23 seconds to finish second in that event.
The third record Hanson was apart of was the 4x200-meter relay. Hanson, along with #Branden Perrault# (
Fr.-Hermantown, Minn.), #Tony Evans# (
Jr.-New Richmond, Wis.), and #Joe Ohlin# (
So.-Baxter, Minn.) won with a record time of 1:34.60 seconds.
The fourth school record broken by the Saints today was by #Cyrus Beckwith# (
Jr.-Saginaw, Minn./Proctor) in the pole vault as he cleared a height of 13'-2.25” (4.02m).

Sr.-Duluth, Minn./Central) won the 600-meter run with a meet record time of 1:25.92 seconds. #Tyler Rien# (
Fr.-St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) also broke the meet record and won the high jump, clearing a height of 6'-1.5” (1.87m). #Phillip Rien# (
Fr.-St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) placed third in that event with a height of 5'-11.5” (1.82m).

So.-Deer River, Minn./Grand Rapids) took second in the long jump with a distance of 22'-3” (6.78m). Tyler Rien finished right behind him in third with a distance of 21'0.75” (6.42m). #Peter Drinkwine# (
Fr.-Superior, Wis.) placed second in the triple jump, leaping a distance of 42'-4.25” (12.91m).
The Saints will be at home next weekend when it hosts the Lake Superior Challenge in the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse. Multi events will take place on Friday night starting at 6 p.m. with the rest of the action starting on Saturday at 11 a.m.
